If you’re looking to enjoy two of Japan’s most iconic foods in one stop and in a short amount of time, this unique spot is perfect for you. This ramen shop offers good quality set of sushi and ramen. And it’s open from early morning, making it ideal for travelers who want to start their day with something memorable.

Originally founded in Yokohama, the shop has expanded to areas like Shinbashi and Shibuya, and has even been featured on TV in these days. The Shibuya branch opened in 2025, making it one of the newest locations.
The ramen is built on a soy sauce–based broth that highlights the depth of Japanese katsuobushi dashi culture. Using the traditional “oi-katsuo” technique—adding freshly shaved bonito flakes at the end to enhance aroma and richness—the bowl delivers a clean yet beautifully layered umami while still keeping its own unique character.
The chashu is tender enough to fall apart gently, and the slightly curly noodles offer a comforting texture reminiscent of Kitakata-style ramen.

The sushi is already lightly seasoned with soy sauce, so you can enjoy each piece exactly as it’s served. You can choose from sets of 3, 5, or 7 pieces, all made with surprisingly high quality for a ramen shop. If you already tried sushi elsewhere but still feel like you want “just a bit more,” this is a great place to satisfy that craving—even from early morning.

What is “Oi-katsuo”? How to enjoy?

Oi-gatsuo is a traditional Japanese method where extra bonito flakes are added at the final stage of cooking to intensify aroma and deepen the broth’s flavor. It’s a simple yet essential technique that brings out the soul of Japanese dashi.

  1. Freshly shaved bonito flakes are placed inside the small strainer for the “oi-katsuo” (extra bonito) process.
  2. Stir the strainer gently with your chopsticks for about 10 seconds to extract the additional bonito flavor.(If you steep it for more than 30 seconds, it may develop a slight bitterness.)
  3. You’ll immediately notice the rich, aromatic fragrance of freshly brewed bonito. Please be careful—the soup is very hot.
